Entry 001

Hush

July 26, 20261 min read

Classification: Mórmhéala (moor-vay-la)

Status: UNKNOWN

Origin:

Surveyors claim a tree sits at the edge of Säuseln Kingdom. This tree is older than the mountains surrounding it.

No one can recall when the tree began to grow, it has always been next to the ancient tiled road. There is however, three, unpleasant records at the crossing marked by the tree.

Three deaths over four centuries are recorded near this tree in fragmentary Säuseln Parish records. All three are marked, in the same unsteady hand in the margin.

Hush.

That is where the record ends.

Through out the kingdom, no corroborated account can be found. The secondhand accounts describe a silent figure never fully seen, always at dusk. This figure never approaches. Close accounts do not exist.

Witnesses unfortunate enough to glimpse her make the same claim “almost a woman, from far enough away.”

Two accounts insist she did nothing to them at all. The records indicate that she watched for a heartbeat and then was not there. One of these accounts described hearing “singing, or something like singing” but she claimed it sounded like a lullaby.

Whether Hush is a singular entity or a recurring phenomenon remains unresolved.

The tree is still there. It is, by any measure, much too old.

The tree continues to grow.

Fragment status: incomplete.

Additional entries pending further recovery.

IRAE

August 2, 20261 min read

Classification: Lonnas (lon-ahs)

Status: Wandering

Some names are recorded because they are dangerous and others because they are the only proof something ever existed.

Irae is the second kind.

Long before the Spiral broke, Irae swore an oath. A corner of existence and its people were entrusted to her protection.

The Spiral was more than a civilization. It was an engineered connection.

The Spiral galaxy held an ancient creation. The Spiral Gate, capable of connecting realities beyond their own, building a bridge between worlds that no other known civilization had ever attempted or achieved.

Then the corruption came. It was unannounced and unaccompanied, simply appearing and changing everything it touched. The corruption did not destroy.

It altered.

Eventually, Irae was no choice left to make. She retreated behind the Spiral’s walls and opened the gate. She pushed her people into unknown realities, watching them disappear one by one.

When the last had stepped through, leaving Irae alone, she destroyed the only path home. She severed the only connection between worlds.

Irae believed her people were alive.

Somewhere.

She doesn’t know if they found peace or another form of suffering.

The corruption remained, spreading through the remnants of the abandoned world. The home she sacrificed everything to save became the prison she could not leave.

Was the choice right?

Irae is the guardian who had to choose and the one that survived.

Somewhere beyond the Spiral, her people may remain, too.
